Hello there and I hope you enjoy my little catch up. I've been absent from my blog for quite some time and I think the thought of trying to catch up was too daunting to even think of beginning to do it. Now that I have overcome that thought let me give you an update (more like a list) of what I've been up to.
September - left my role at bigmouthmedia as the Head of Organic search after realizing I like people, but not dealing with clients and being responsible for so many other people.
End of September - I started my new role at bigmouthmedia as the Head of Training (I'm really enjoying it). I train people internally and I train clients.
October - I have two visitors, Debbie and Carolyn. It went by fast but we had a great time of course!
October - We move from our flat to Gran's house. (we're still there now)
October - I go home for my dad's 75th birthday! It's a surprise and we have a blast. I'm so lucky that I got to celebrate with him. Unfortunately, when I get home from my trip I found out that we wouldn't be going home for Christmas as Andy's deportation update was pushed back to May. This was an issue because if he tried to enter the country they'd stick him right back on a plane out. It's a long story as to why this is all happening, but I'll keep you posted in May if you'll be seeing Andy in 2007 in the US.
October - I start my diploma to become a nutritional therapist. I'm now past my midterm and first paper and on my way to the end of my first year. I'm enjoying it and learning a ton. I'll let you know when I'm actually qualified to talk with you about your diet. Currently, I'm just getting accustomed to medical speak and becoming friendly with disease symptoms.
December/January - So now we jump ahead a couple of months and we're at the holidays. We enjoyed a quiet Christmas in Edinburgh with Gran. Boxing day (the 26th) we put the pooch in the car and headed down South to Reading to visit with Ann and Eric. We took a side trip to Bath for a couple days which was beautiful. We stayed in a wonderful bed and breakfast and enjoyed walking through the old streets, enjoying some pints while we watched the rugby and visited the Roman baths which were interesting and enticing at the same time. No dipping was allowed unfortunately.
Then we headed back to reading for New Year's Eve. We didn't do too much as we were driving home the next morning.
February - An excellent time was had with my parent's visiting Edinburgh for the first time. Our days were quite full as there are tons of things to do and see, as well as introduce them to our lives here so I think we tired them out a little, but no worries, Gran's ginger cake gave them the needed energy to carry on. :) Here's a few fotos from their visit. We headed up to St. Andrews one day that's where the pic of me and my dad is, as well as that funny street sign. There's a farmer's market every Saturday in Edinburgh just in the shadow of the castle and you can see my mom and I there. Of course, I couldn't leave you without a picture of snoopy in his little back compartment of the car. He could spend all day in there as long as we don't leave him home. :)

March - Maggie's sister Cate and her husband Mike were in Edbinburgh at the end of their visit to the UK and Ireland. We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Outsider Restaurant and the Villager Bar. I was feeling a little worse for the wear at work the next day, but it was worth it.
April - Well, that brings me to this month (or tomorrow if you want to be picky). I'll be going home for two weeks. Thanks again to the marathon (Lisa's doing) I'll be home on Friday. I CANNOT WAIT!
So, that should bring you up to date I think. To give you an idea about Andy, he's been growing his client base at VirginActive regularly selling more sessions than his colleagues. He played for Boroughmuir rugby club this year and enjoyed a successful season. He's looking forward to next season already. Lastly, he continues to work on his dissertation. He's almost done with his review of literature and will be starting to think about the actual data collection with a random sample of guinea pigs. :)
My plan is to try and keep this up this year. So, stay tuned for more updates. I think I'll try and commit to once a month as I know more than that and you'll be getting another long winded update from me 6 months from now.
I hope you are all doing well and for those of you in Boston I hope to see you soon!
All my best
xxKarin
